Marketplace rules

Read before buying or selling. Tulamtharn is a place to post listings — buyers and sellers agree on price and pay each other directly.

Never allowed

  • Wild-caught fish and aquatic animals (the listing form has no such option)
  • Species protected by law
  • Alien aquatic species the Department of Fisheries bans from keeping or trade
  • Medicines, antibiotics and chemicals
  • Aquatic plants collected from the wild

Species in the site catalogue carry a trade status the team sets after checking official lists: "Banned" cannot be listed and existing listings disappear at once · "Caution" sellers must state the origin clearly

Not sure a species may be sold? Do not post yet — ask the team first.

Who can sell

  • Members the team allows one by one. Ask for permission on the My listings page (you can ask again every 30 days).
  • Member listings are checked by the team before they appear. Edited listings are checked again, except a price cut.
  • An ordinary price cut keeps the listing in the market. A cut below one third of the approved price, or a change to free, sends the listing back for review first, because scammers use that as bait.
  • A listing lasts 30 days and can be renewed once a week. You can have at most 20 active and waiting listings.
  • Sellers must be 20 or older and accept these rules before their first listing.
  • Do not put phone numbers, LINE IDs, links or bank accounts in a listing. Buyers contact sellers through the site chat.

Money, meeting and delivery

  • Tulamtharn does not take payment for sellers and is not a party to the sale
  • Meet in a busy public place and check the item before paying.
  • Never pay a deposit to someone you have not met or traded with before.
  • Before transferring, check the account name matches the seller, and keep the chat and transfer as evidence.
  • For live animals, agree on packing, shipping and what happens if they die on the way before you pay.

Common scams

  • A price that is far too low, with pressure to transfer quickly before someone else buys.
  • Asking for a deposit or shipping fee first and refusing to meet or show the item.
  • Asking to move to LINE or another app outside the site, or sending links to click.
  • Sending a transfer slip and saying the money was sent — sellers must check the bank app themselves; slips can be faked.
  • Pretending to be Tulamtharn staff and asking for your password, bank account or a transfer — the team never does this.
  • The account name to transfer to does not match the seller.

If something goes wrong

  • Press "Report this" on the listing page and pick a reason such as "Scam or fraud" or "Banned item or protected species".
  • In a private chat, report the message or the person, and block them right away.
  • The team can hide listings and remove selling permission from scammers, but cannot refund you — money never goes through the site.
  • If you have lost money, report to the police quickly and keep the chat, slips and listing link.
